Jerry and Shirley Carnes organized the Crusaders for Christ Singers in 1973 as a southern
gospel quartet. The ensuing years have opened and closed doors, presented opportunity and
challenges, brought joy and heartache and produced changes. In 1994 Kenny Roberts, our
tenor singer for 18 years went to be with the Lord. We rearranged our songs and ministered as
a trio until 2002 when we added a new tenor, lead, and female alto. In 2006 Linda Scott, our
female alto went to be with the lord and once again the group was faced with heartache and
change. Today we are an all male quartet who has remained faithful to our southern gospel
heritage and our calling of presenting Gods message in song. The Crusaders for Christ have
made 11 recordings since 1978 and our latest project; “Good Morning” was released in 2007.
